Kings Rally to Beat Knicks
Peja Stojakovic scored 12 of his 29 points in overtime and Chris Webber had 39 points and 15 rebounds Tuesday night as the Sacramento Kings defeated the New York Knicks, 124-117.
The normally defense-minded Knicks gave up 18 more points than they had in any other game this season and also blew an 18-point lead. But Kurt Thomas, who had a season-high 23 points, shot them into overtime with a dramatic three-point basket--only the second of his career--with six seconds to play in regulation.
The Knicks’ magic didn’t last in the extra period at a deafening Arco Arena. Stojakovic made all four of his shots, including a three-pointer with 1:39 remaining, and added three free throws in the final 28 seconds.
