Capistrano Valley’s Hair Commits Early to UCLA
J.J. Hair, a second-team All-South Coast League tight end as a junior at Capistrano Valley, announced Wednesday that he is committing to UCLA.
Hair, who is 6 feet 7, 230 pounds and caught 26 passes for 399 yards last fall, chose the Bruins over USC, Michigan, Northwestern, Arizona State, Arizona, Colorado and Nebraska. He said he told UCLA Coach Bob Toledo Wednesday he wanted to become a Bruin, during an on-campus visit.
“This is the school I wanted to go to,” Hair said. “It’s very close to home. I decided to do it now so I can enjoy my senior year. This takes the pressure off.”
Hair’s brother, Nate, is a guard on USC’s basketball team.
