Residents Evacuated During Industrial Fire

A fire at an industrial plating firm that contained hazardous chemicals prompted authorities to evacuate residents in a two-block area of Hollywood on Saturday night.
The fire was reported about 6:30 p.m. at Phyl Rich Inc. on North Mansfield Avenue, just south of Santa Monica Boulevard, according to L.A. City fire officials.
Residents were allowed to return to their homes before 9 p.m.
