Adam Jacobsen, a former all-state player at Crescenta Valley High, will coach the Falcon boys’ team next season.
He replaces Jim Smiley, who resigned last week after four years at Crescenta Valley.
Jacobsen, who served as an assistant at Pacific the last two seasons, becomes the fourth boys’ basketball coach since the program began in 1963.
He averaged 27.1 points for the Falcons in 1993 before playing at Pacific.
His brother, Casey, was an All-American at Stanford last season.
Another brother, Brock, played at Crescenta Valley and San Diego and is an assistant coach at Glendora High.
Adam’s youngest brother, Derek, will be a freshman next fall but won’t be joining him at Crescenta Valley. He’ll attend Glendora.
Jacobsen will take over a team that begins play in a new gymnasium. The Falcons return top guards Jimmy Goffredo and Chris Tarne.
