In other Division II games:

Edison 5, La Mirada 4--Host Edison (20-8-1), defeated second-seeded La Mirada (23-5-1) when Chris Brannan’s sixth-inning single scored A.J. Martinez from third. Steve Webber’s first home run of the season had tied the score for the Chargers, 4-4.

Sophomore David Huff (8-2) gave up five hits and struck out 10 in six innings and Tim Robertson got the final out with Matador runners on first and third.

The Chargers advance to play Mater Dei on Tuesday in their first semifinal game since 1991.

Mater Dei 9, La Crescenta Crescenta Valley 2--Richard Mercado had a solo home run in the first inning, a double in the third and a run-scoring single in the seventh for visiting Mater Dei (25-4).

Crescenta Valley is 20-8.

In Division III:

El Dorado 8, Santa Margarita 7 (10)--Brian Jackson’s 10th-inning single drove in Jeff Flaig for the victory. Flaig relieved Nick McMillan in the seventh to pick up his 11th win of the season. Chris Wilson had three hits, including two doubles, and two RBIs for visiting El Dorado (24-5).

Matt Wilkerson had a grand slam in the fifth for Santa Margarita (15-15).

The Golden Hawks play Laguna Hills Tuesday in a semifinal game.

Laguna Hills 3, West Torrance 0--Daniel Miltenberger (9-3) pitched a three-hitter to upset second-seeded West Torrance.

Laguna Hills (18-10) scored on a RBI single from Dustin Hicks in the fourth and a two-run single from Brian Anderson in the fifth.

In Division V:

Whittier Christian 4, San Pedro Mary Star 1--Anthony Villa struck out eight and pitched a five-hitter as Whittier Christian (16-12) advanced to the semifinals against North Hills L.A. Baptist.
