High School Athlete Dies After Motocross Crash
A Mission Viejo High wrestler has died of injuries suffered in an off-road accident Sept. 13 at Perris Raceway, his family said Thursday.
Aaron Allan Ehlers Madvig, 15, who began riding at 7 and aspired to be a professional motocross racer, was practicing jumps when he flipped his Kawasaki and struck his head. He was taken to Riverside County Regional Medical Center but never regained consciousness and died Wednesday afternoon.
“We had been practicing the whole summer with a professional,” said Scott Madvig, Aaron’s father. “It was his dream to be a pro.”
Besides his father, Aaron is survived by his mother, Diana Madvig; stepmother, Teela Madvig; brothers Tyler and Cory; and grandmothers Linda Ehlers and Charlene Madvig.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at El Toro Memorial Park.
