Answer. Yes, San Diego. The Chargers finish the regular season with a bye week, meaning they could be heading into a Wednesday wild-card game on 10 days’ rest.
2 Q. Any other ideas about how to solve the scheduling crunch?
A. Moorpark’s Gilbert Bahn has a pretty good one. Instead of playing Saturday-Wednesday-Sunday, why not Thursday-Tuesday-Sunday for wild-card hopefuls?
3 Q. What is one way NFL players will honor the victims of the terrorist attacks?
A. All players will wear an American flag decal on the lower right back of their helmets for the rest of the season.
4 Q. How itchy was New York Jet quarterback Vinny Testaverde to get back to football?
A. Very. He ran spontaneous wind sprints between drills this week, and even lined up on the kickoff-coverage scout team.
5 Q. Best news for players this weekend?
A. At last, they can get back to complaining about regular officials.
