Traffic Report Sought After Flood Tie-Ups
Upset over street flooding that brought traffic to a halt this week, City Council members Ruth Galanter and Alex Padilla called Wednesday for a report in two weeks on what can be done to avoid future standstills.
Galanter and Padilla said traffic control was nonexistent after flooding caused by rain left many motorists stranded Monday. The report will be prepared by the city’s chief legislative analyst with assistance from police and fire officials.
“Certainly, the city should be able to anticipate flooding in chronic problem areas and marshal a quick response,” Galanter said.
