Disney Names TV Animation Unit Chief
Walt Disney Co. named David Stainton president of the company’s television animation division. Stainton, 40, was executive vice president of television animation and fills a newly created position.
His appointment comes after a strong year for Disney’s TV animation unit, whose direct-to-video business has become an important moneymaker for the studio.
The unit also produced the Peter Pan sequel “Return to Never Land,” which has grossed more than $25 million at the box office since it came out two weeks ago.
