Police Hunt Escapee From Pitchess Jail
Police urged Santa Clarita residents Tuesday to be on guard as police searched for an escaped inmate from the Peter J. Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic.
The 25-year-old inmate, whose name was not released, escaped Monday night. The 5-foot-8, 150-pound man wore light blue jail clothes, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Ron Bottomley.
The inmate was serving 270 days in jail for evading police and reckless driving.
