Man Free on $100,000 Bail in Hate-Crimes Case

A Santa Clarita man was free on $100,000 bail Friday stemming from his arrest on suspicion of hate crimes, officials said.

Donald Ray Gaskin, 48, was arrested Thursday on a warrant listing 11 charges, among them hate crimes, vandalism and petty theft.

The arrest culminated a seven-month investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s Hate Crimes Task Force.

No information about the allegations was released.

Authorities did not disclose when or where they allegedly occurred, and victims were listed as confidential.

Gaskin could not be reached for comment.
