Confusing Cruise System
Regarding the article on cruise ships’ new systems of food service (“Cruise Dining Options,” May 12), we found one annoying issue. As stated in the article, some ships automatically add gratuities to the passengers’ bill for the waiters, cabin stewards etc.
But on the last night of our Princess cruise, the purser still put out envelopes, and we felt the crew was looking for their envelopes. There should be envelopes or no envelopes but not this unclear situation.
