University President in Spending Scandal Quits
From Times Wire Reports
The University of Tennessee president resigned amid growing scrutiny of his spending, including questions about his use of the school’s airplane and a university credit card. John Shumaker cut up the credit card and this month reimbursed the university $25,000 for airplane flights.
Shumaker, 60, came to the university a little more than a year ago from the University of Louisville. Both schools have ordered audits of his spending.
