Woman Kidnapped at Beach and Raped
A woman sitting in a car with a friend at Kiddie Beach in Oxnard on Friday night was sexually assaulted by a man who forced her out of the vehicle at gunpoint, authorities said Saturday.
The woman was raped in a public bathroom at the beach and then forced at gunpoint to drive another car to Port Hueneme, where she was sexually assaulted again, authorities said.
Meanwhile, the victim’s friend drove to the nearby Port Hueneme police station, where he sought help from officers. Ventura County sheriff’s deputies and Port Hueneme and Oxnard police officers then went to the beach, which is in Channel Islands Harbor.
Officials did not give details about the victim or her eventual release from the attacker but said she met with detectives at a crisis center in Ventura on Saturday afternoon. Oxnard police did not say what time the kidnapping and rapes occurred.
The assailant remained at large Saturday evening, police said.
