Firefighter Treated After 30-Acre Blaze Is Battled
One firefighter was injured Sunday while battling a brush fire that scorched about 30 acres near Caspers Wilderness Park, officials said.
The firefighter, who was not identified, was treated at a hospital for heat exhaustion, officials said.
About 1:25 p.m., officials said, a motor home sparked the fire, which spread along Ortega Highway, about 7 miles east of Interstate 5.
About 80 firefighters on the ground and in helicopters battled the blaze, which was expected to be contained by 8 a.m. today. The cause was under investigation.
