L.A. May Bid for 2016 Olympics

The Los Angeles City Council on Wednesday unanimously endorsed the idea of bringing the Summer Olympics to the city as soon as possible, perhaps in 2016.
Councilman Tom LaBonge pushed for the plan, saying Los Angeles is “a world-class city, with world-class venues and world-class spirit.”
Los Angeles hosted the Summer Games in 1932 and 1984, and has bid for the Olympics at least 10 times.
