17 Students Are Evicted From University Dorm
Seventeen students have been evicted from a dorm at UC Santa Barbara because of repeated violations that included urinating in halls and tampering with fire equipment, officials said.
UC Santa Barbara housing officials handed out the eviction notices Wednesday to students living at the campus’ Santa Cruz Hall.
The students, all believed to be freshmen, were given 24 hours to get out, said university spokesman Paul Desruisseaux.
Students requesting an appeal for additional time were given until 2 p.m. Friday to move out.
“Some have already requested an appeal,” Desruisseaux said.
The results of those appeals were not immediately known.
