Teenager Is Accused of Killing His Therapist
A homeless teenager taken in by his behavioral therapist has been arrested on suspicion of shooting her to death in her mountain home Monday, authorities said.
The 16-year-old grabbed therapist Mary Oliverio’s rifle, pointed it at her and fired, said Sgt. Richard Ells of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, adding the teen said it was an accident.
The boy called 911, but Oliverio, 36, was dead when paramedics arrived at the Waters Drive home Monday afternoon, authorities said. The teenager, whose name was withheld because of his age, was booked on suspicion of murder at San Bernardino Juvenile Hall.
