Ticket agents bear a heavy load

Share

I wish the writer of “New Fees for Flying: Sky’s the Limit?” [Letters, May 1] could speak with my daughter, who worked at the ticket counter at San Diego’s airport about four years ago. She was constantly lifting very heavy bags and turning around in a repetitive motion to put them behind her.

She ended up with a herniated disc, was in excruciating pain for nearly a year and had surgery. She still has good and bad days and will never be the same. We know of other agents who also had back injuries.
