From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A Huntington Beach man convicted of trying to sell a 200-year-old Hawaiian skull on EBay was sentenced Monday to perform 600 hours of community service and to apologize.
Jerry Hasson, 56, must also pay more than $13,000, as well as publish the apology in several Hawaiian newspapers and on an EBay bulletin board.
Hasson, convicted of violating federal laws protecting archeological resources, said he got the skull after sneaking into an excavation on Maui as a teenager.
