Not just another tequila Sunday

Deep in the heart of the Conejo Valley on Agoura Road, the Adobe Cantina just opened a hot new tequila bar. Its outdoor seating and summer-like setting have attracted quite the Sunday afternoon crowd, including Jay Leno, Tommy Lee, Pamela Anderson and Daryl Hannah, who’ve all stopped by recently.... And as you head into Malibu on Kanan Road, check out the Rustic Canyon Grill, a beer joint that gets people happy midday....

The Alliance is continuing its reign as Hollywood’s major nightlife broker. On Fridays, Josh Richman and his partner Hartwell continue to bring megawatt stars and megawatt fun to Hollywood’s Les Deux Cafe, where the patio is now tented for extra coziness. And since the Alliance took over as entertainment liaison for the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and its various fun spots -- including the Tropicana and Teddy’s -- the hotel’s scene is seeing a nice rebirth, with the upbeat mood a stark contrast to the sour times that prevailed under the reign of Amanda Scheer Demme. We hear Teddy’s is hot Wednesdays through Saturdays.... All this on the heels of the Alliance’s recent P3 launch party and its Samsung Blackjack gala with Pharrell Williams.

Spreading out the creativity

Next up for the rock ‘n’ roll art gallery the Thought (next door to the Burgundy Room in Hollywood) is an exhibition by AFI’s Davey Havoc and the art of Red Hot Chili Peppers original guitarist Hillel Slovak, which includes the self-portrait he created the night he died. In addition, pro skater-turned-artist Steve Olson brings his work there in the spring....

And speaking of galleries, punk photog Lisa Johnson had a nice opening on Saturday at Goldmine Garage in Echo Park, where such punkers as the Vandals’ Dave Quackenbush and Love Equals Death manager Ken Seaton turned out to wish her well....

Looks as if Avalon is stepping things up quite a bit. Among the latest upgrades are an enormous beatbox, new lighting and stage design, and a giant pirate ship. Ahoy!

Meg Ryan, sporting a long mane, was spotted hopping in her car after leaving Wilshire, the tony lounge next door to Holly’s West on Wilshire.... And there’s one way to know Travis Barker has moved to your neighborhood. The punk rock star has been leaving a wake of Famous Stars & Straps stickers -- his clothing line -- all over the Westside.... Bumped into Bobby Kimball, the lead singer of Toto, at Art’s Deli in Studio City, where he was meeting up with old pal Steve Porcaro, the former Toto keyboardist, for a bit of midday noshing.... Got to say “Hello, Governor” to the Governator and his wife, Maria Shriver, who were out enjoying the holiday spirit of Montana Avenue’s holiday festivities in Santa Monica on Friday night. Tonight at Area on La Cienega there’s a big hoo-ha for Details magazine and Armani Exchange.... Among those at the Volkswagen launch party Nov. 28 at Raleigh Studios were Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie (together!).
