From Reuters

Troubled Delta Air Lines Inc., based in Atlanta, plans to slash flights on many routes where its Song unit competes with JetBlue Airways Corp.

The reduced competition on routes between New York and Florida probably will mean higher fares for summer travel and higher revenue for New York-based JetBlue, which recently posted its first quarterly loss since 2002.

* United Airlines flight attendants have ratified an agreement for a defined-contribution retirement plan, their union said, signaling the end of its battle with parent company UAL Corp. over pensions.
