Unease about infiltration
Re “The agent with a secret past,” Nov. 14
Nada Nadim Prouty’s systematic and successful effort to compromise top-secret national security data is startling and hugely important in evaluating the impact of the incompetence of the Bush administration on our lives.
The jump headline on Page A12 reads, “Case embarrassing for CIA and FBI.” “Embarrassing”? I suggest this alternative headline: “Hezbollah determined to strike in U.S.” No, wait, we know that wouldn’t have an effect either.

We often think it’s just a movie. The reality is that a person infiltrated our FBI and our CIA just like in the movies.
As an American, I can say that this leaves me uneasy. I guess I’ve been wrong to think we have all of our bases covered, but then again, we are all only human.
