Vancouver 4, at Columbus 2: Ryan Kesler scored two goals and goalie Curtis Sanford was solid in his first start of the season. Sanford, who gave up four goals in only 39 minutes in his only appearance this season, made several nice glove saves on the Blue Jackets, who outshot the Canucks, 36-19.

at Minnesota 3, Colorado 2: Mikko Koivu’s goal with 3:04 left lifted the Wild. Koivu grabbed the puck out of the corner, started like he was going to carry it behind the net and then made a quick move to the short side and simply bulled his way out front to stuff the puck past a surprised Peter Budaj.
