Chicago 101, at Utah 100: Larry Hughes’ 22-foot jumper as time expired gave the Bulls the win and handed the short-handed Jazz its first home loss of the season. Hughes rebounded Derrick Rose’s miss inside and got off the winning shot in time as Jazz players stood stunned, looking to see if it counted. The play was reviewed and the shot stood to give the Bulls their second road win of the season. Rose finished with 25 points, 10 in the fourth quarter, and nine assists. Mehmet Okur had 26 points and nine rebounds for Utah, which was without injured starters Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer.

San Antonio 94, at Memphis 81: Manu Ginobili scored 12 points in his first game of the season. Ginobili, who missed the Spurs’ first 12 games after off-season ankle surgery, entered with 5:34 left in the first quarter and promptly made his first two shots, the first from outside the arc and the second on a dunk. He played 11 minutes. Rookie George Hill scored 20 points and Tim Duncan had 14 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks for San Antonio, which has won five of its last six. USC alumnus O.J. Mayo scored 23 of his 26 points in the second half for the Grizzlies.

at Charlotte 93, Philadelphia 84: D.J. Augustin had 25 points and a career-high 11 assists, Raymond Felton scored 23 points, and the Bobcats used a new speedy and small lineup to beat the 76ers. The 6-foot Augustin and the 6-1 Felton helped the Bobcats end a four-game losing streak despite another meek performance from their front line. Elton Brand had 18 points and Andre Iguodala scored 17 for the 76ers.
