at No. 5 Missouri 42, Buffalo 21: Chase Daniel passed for a career-high 439 yards and set a Big 12 record with 20 consecutive completions, helping the Tigers (4-0) overcome a rash of errors to beat the Bulls (2-2) at Columbia. The Tigers lost three fumbles in Buffalo territory and special-teams mistakes led to two of the Bulls’ touchdowns, keeping the game close well into the second half against a 33 1/2 -point underdog. Daniel was 36 for 43 for two touchdowns, and fell three completions shy of the NCAA record of 23 in a row shared by Tennessee’s Tee Martin (1998) and Cal’s Aaron Rodgers (2004).

at No. 7 Texas 52, Rice 10: Colt McCoy threw four touchdown passes, setting the Texas career record, and the Longhorns (3-0) romped to a win over the Owls (2-2) at Austin. McCoy finished with 329 yards passing and his five-yard scoring toss to Quan Cosby in the third broke the previous record of 60 set by Major Applewhite from 1998 to 2001.

at No. 11 Texas Tech 56, Massachusetts 14: Graham Harrell threw for 322 yards and four touchdowns and Shannon Woods ran for three scores to help the Red Raiders (4-0) rout the Minutemen (2-2) at Lubbock. Texas Tech scored on six of seven possessions in the first half.

at No. 19 Kansas 38, Sam Houston State 14: Todd Reesing threw for 356 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for another score to lead the Jayhawks (3-1) over the Bearkats (1-1) at Lawrence.

Miami 41, at Texas A&M; 23: Graig Cooper ran for a career-high 128 yards and two scores to lead the Hurricanes (2-1) over the Aggies (1-2) at College Station. Miami handed Texas A&M; its worst nonconference defeat at Kyle Field since a 30-10 loss to Alabama in 1988.

at Nevada Las Vegas 34, Iowa State 31 (OT): Omar Clayton threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Phillip Payne on the first play of overtime for the Rebels (3-1) after the Cyclones (2-2) had kicked a field goal.
