Leftist President Rafael Correa appeared headed for easy reelection, with early results and three exit polls showing he had a large enough margin to win without a runoff.
Correa declared victory moments after polls closed. Partial official results with 6% of the vote counted gave Correa 49.2%, compared with 30.5% for his closest competitor.
