CALIFORNIA BRIEFING / SANTA BARBARA
An off-duty Santa Barbara police officer has been arrested for allegedly exposing himself and masturbating in front of two teenage girls at a Refugio State Beach campground.
Brian Sawicki, 33, ran when the girls pointed him out Monday to a park ranger, according to an account from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department. The ranger subdued him after a chase.
He was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure, resisting a peace officer and annoying or molesting a child.
The Santa Barbara Police Department has placed Sawicki on administrative leave.
