An 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of felony hit and run Saturday morning after he ran a red light and rammed into an LAPD patrol car, injuring two officers, police said.

The officers were responding to a radio call about 3:20 a.m. when a gray Honda Accord collided with their car at Virgil and Melrose avenues, said Officer Fidel Gonzalez of the Central Traffic Division.

The driver and passenger of the Honda got out of the car and fled, Gonzalez said. The driver was arrested soon after about a block away. Police set up a perimeter and searched for the passenger but were unable to locate him, officers said.
