Cleveland 10, at Seattle 3: The Indians’ Asdrubal Cabrera homered, drove in two runs and scored three times to back a strong start by Jeremy Sowers.
Oakland 6, at New York 4: Landon Powell and Orlando Cabrera each drove in a pair of runs for the Athletics, who ended the Yankees’ winning streak at eight games.
at Detroit 4, Chicago 3 (10 innings): Detroit tied the score against Bobby Jenks in the ninth inning, then won it with Carlos Guillen’s run-scoring single against D.J. Carrasco in the 10th.
at Boston 7, Baltimore 2: David Ortiz had a three-run homer, Adam LaRoche added a two-run shot in his Red Sox debut and Jon Lester pitched into the eighth inning.
at Kansas City 6, Texas 3: Luke Hochevar struck out a career-high 13 in seven innings, and closer Joakim Soria earned a rare six-out save, helping the Royals end a 10-game losing streak.
at Angels 11, Minnesota 5: Chone Figgins and Maicer Izturis homered during a nine-run fourth inning.
