Jets’ Darrelle Revis hopes to play Sunday night

An MRI exam Monday revealed that Darrelle Revis has a strained left hamstring, but the New York Jets’ shut-down cornerback would not rule himself out of New York’s game at Miami on Sunday night.

“They just said it’s strained and it could take one to two weeks, or it could take a week,” Revis said. “It depends on how my body recovers.”

Revis, who was limited in practice last week by tightness in the hamstring, was injured late in the first half of New York’s 28-14 win over New England on Sunday. Revis, who said he felt 100% healthy before the game, didn’t return and watched the second half in the trainer’s room.

Mack accuses Smith

Cleveland Browns center Alex Mack accused Kansas City defensive lineman Shaun Smith of grabbing his private parts during Sunday’s game.

Mack said Smith, who played two seasons for the Browns before he was released last year, committed the dirty play in the second quarter. “I don’t think he should be able to do that,” Mack said Monday. “I’m still fired up about it.”

Mack was so enraged by what Smith did during a running play that he started to chase him toward Kansas City’s sideline before turning around because Cleveland’s punt team was coming onto the field. Mack gestured to the officials and pointed at Smith, who denied any wrongdoing.

“I don’t have no comment,” Smith said. “I don’t recall doing anything like that. I’m not known for being a dirty player or anything like that, so I don’t know what that was all about.”

Moeller arrested

Authorities said Baltimore Ravens assistant offensive line coach Andy Moeller is facing drunken driving charges. Maryland State Police said the coach was arrested after being pulled over for speeding on the Maryland beltway early Saturday.

Moeller’s attorney Andrew Alperstein says the coach will plead not guilty to seven charges, including driving under the influence and negligent driving. Ravens spokesman Kevin Byrne says the team is aware of what happened.

Moeller was acquitted last month of charges of driving under the influence and negligent driving. Alperstein said the judge found that Moeller was not driving.

Moeller has been on the Ravens’ staff since 2008 and coached for eight years at Michigan after playing there. He is the son of former Michigan head coach Gary Moeller.
