UCLA Coach Jim Mora keeps insisting that freshman Myles Jack will remain a linebacker.

Jack crossed over to running back against Arizona on Saturday and gained 120 yards on six carries. The week since has been brought speculation, and questions, about where Jack will line up Friday against Washington.

Mora ran down the status of the Bruins’ battered running back corps on Wednesday:

Damien Thigpen (ankle) is “a game-time decision.”

Jordon James (ankle) is “fine.”

Steven Manfro (ankle) is “out.”

Paul Perkins is “good.”

Malcolm Jones is “good.”

Craig Lee is “good.”

Melvin Emesibe is “good.”

Ryan Davis is “good.”

And Roosevelt David is “good.”

Mora seemed to leave someone out: Jack.

“He’s a linebacker,” Mora said. “He’s a linebacker.”

Sure, Coach, sure.
