Man stabbed outside Convention Center dies
An unidentified man was stabbed to death Saturday near the Los Angeles Convention Center, authorities said.
The man was attacked about 11:20 a.m. on Pico Boulevard between Flower and Figueroa streets and staggered across Pico before collapsing, said Los Angeles Police Officer Sally Madera. Others outside the Convention Center called police and paramedics. The victim later died at a hospital.
Joh Donaty, a property manager working nearby, said responding officers apparently retrieved the knife used in the attack after the assailants discarded it in a plastic grocery bag.
According to Madera, four individuals were detained by officers. Investigators were still at the scene late Saturday afternoon.
