Ike and Tina Turner’s former L.A. home finds a proud buyer
Just as big wheels keep on turning, so goes the real estate market. The onetime home of ‘60s soul duo Ike and Tina Turner in L.A.’s View Park area has rolled off the market, selling for $1.4 million.
Built in 1956, the remodeled house maintains a Midcentury Modern vibe with a double-door entry and classic flagstone-clad fireplace. The ornate front doors were custom-made for Tina Turner – check out the door handles shaped like arms and hands.
Today’s 3,000-square-foot open plan connects the living, dining and family rooms to an all-new kitchen. The master suite features a walk-in closet and direct access to the outdoors for a total of four bedrooms and five bathrooms.
A custom pool, a cabana and a fire pit lounge area sit at the back of the home.
The property changed hands previously for $870,000.
Among the Turners’ memorable hits were “Honky Tonk Woman” and “Proud Mary,” for which they won a Grammy. In 1991 they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Tammy Faecher and Branden Lowder of Keller Williams were the listing agents. Andrea Dunlop of Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer.
