Jean Paul Gaultier took inspiration from India for his spring-summer 2013 haute couture collection, shown Wednesday at his Paris atelier.

Indian music accompanied his colorful gowns. For an extra touch of glamour, scarves floated behind a few models. Other styles bore Gaultier’s signature cone bras and corsets.

In the end, a lavishly embellished bride entered to the tune of the French classic, “La Vie En Rose,” only this time sung in Hindi. She paused awhile, then lifted her skirt to reveal four brightly clad children, who raced off down the runway.

Watching from the audience were longtime client Catherine Deneuve, Spanish actress Paz Vega and striptease artist Dita Von Teese.
