Recipe: Celebrate Easter with a ‘Peeps-tini’ cocktail

Share

It was Peeps-o-rama on the latest episode of Forkin’ Amazing on TradioV! Hosts Jenn Harris and Dominic Riley were so sweet to have me on their Internet radio show again, and I was happy to dish on all things Peeps.

We talked about Food’s current story on homemade “peeps,” as well as all the things you can do with Peeps. We even talked about what Peeps do on their own (the “secret life” of Peeps -- sounds just like a Bravo show).

But probably the best part was when I plugged in a blender to demonstrate a “peeps-tini.” Yes, Peeps and alcohol do play well together.

Back to that cocktail. I promised I’d share the recipe, and you can find it below.

Cheers!

Total time: 5 minutes

Servings: 1

Note: The cocktail will take on whatever fabulous shade of Peeps you use in the recipe -- so make them in all shades of pastel! The cocktail can be adapted to brighten almost any holiday occasion using whatever themed Peeps are in season.

4 Peeps, any color

2 ounces vodka

1 ounce creme de cacao

1/2 ounce hazelnut liqueur

1/2 ounce coffee liqueur

2 ounces heavy cream

1. In a blender, combine three Peeps, the vodka, creme de cacao, hazelnut and coffee liqueurs and cream. Blend the mixture until smooth.

2. Pour the mixture into a cocktail shaker and add ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass.

3. Garnish with the remaining Peep and serve immediately.

*Feeling extra celebratory? Rim the martini glass with colored sugar before serving to really impress your guests.
