Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Rancho Tehama Reserve

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Thursday evening 23 miles from Rancho Tehama Reserve, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 9:40 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 2.5 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 36 miles from Red Bluff, 47 miles from Chico, and 51 miles from Ukiah.

In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
