A 4.6 earthquake that hit the Big Bear area Saturday morning was felt over a large area, but there were no reports of damage.

The quake struck at around 10 a.m. and was followed by several aftershocks.

U.S. Geological Survey scientists Lucy Jones said on Twitter that the quake was northwest of the 6.3 magnitude Big Bear quake the rattled the Southland in 1992.

According to the USGS, the Saturday quake was felt most forcefully in the Inland Empire. But people as far away as the Westside of Los Angeles and San Diego reported feeling the jolt.
