One of six events planned for Los Angeles’ “Great Streets” program kicks off Saturday afternoon on Reseda Boulevard in Northridge.

Between 2 and 6 p.m., locals can swarm the section of Reseda between Nordhoff and Gresham streets to enjoy a poetry slam, live music, art show and more.

The “[RE]visit [RE]seda Blvd” event is one of several being funded by a challenge grant program administered by the city and Mayor Eric Garcetti.

Garcetti’s Great Streets Initiative spotlights 15 streets throughout L.A. as part of a larger effort to create and promote thriving neighborhoods. Challenge grants have been awarded to teams within a community to put together events and fund projects like the one Saturday on Reseda.

Five more events on different Great Streets are scheduled between now and Match 19, according to the city’s website.
