Armed motorist at large after being shot at by Pasadena police
Pasadena police shot at a motorist who pulled out a gun during a routine traffic stop early Sunday morning before fleeing, authorities said.
The incident occurred about 3:20 a.m. near Avocado Lane and Estado Street, said Lt. Pete Hettema. Officers approached the driver, whose dark-colored SUV was stopped on the wrong side of the street, he said. One of the officers saw the man had a gun, Hettema said.
“The guy took off and just about hit the officers,” Hettema said.
Police fired one shot at the suspect. It’s not clear whether he -- or his car -- was struck.
“Officers chased him for a while, but lost the car,” Hettema said. The man remains at large.
No officers were injured.
