Big drug bust could interrupt flow of methamphetamine, police say
Authorities said a major drug bust in the town of Ceres, Calif., could interrupt the flow of methamphetamine across the Central Valley.
An anonymous tip led drug enforcement agents to a home in Ceres on Tuesday. Inside, they found almost 300 pounds of methamphetamine, hidden in storage containers.
Agents also found about $66,000 in cash at the home, according to Fox 40.
Officers from Stanislaus County, Modesto’s narcotics team and Homeland Security searched the home.
Two men were arrested near the home: Luis Bartolo Madriz Sandavol of Washington state, and Ramiro Torres of Ceres. They both face charges of possession of meth for sale and transportation of meth.
A Stanislaus County official said this was the county’s largest methamphetamine bust in 40 years.
An investigation into the meth and where it was destined is ongoing, officials said, and there could be more arrests.
