Man killed, driver critically injured in Anaheim crash
A 21-year-old man was killed in an Anaheim car crash that may have been alcohol-related and left the driver of the vehicle in critical condition, authorities said Saturday.
Christopher Tschann was in the front passenger seat of a black Acura Integra traveling on Canyon Rim Road about 10:45 p.m. Friday when the car struck a tree near Via Corral, Anaheim police Lt. Tim Schmidt said.
Tschann, a resident of Yorba Linda, was pronounced dead at the scene. The unidentified 24-year-old driver, who lives in Anaheim, was transported to UC Irvine Medical Center.
The vehicle had been traveling at a high rate of speed through a residential area, Schmidt said.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
