Clayton Kershaw to host charity ping-pong event
Clayton Kershaw, who won the Dodgers’ spring training table tennis tournament handily, will play host to a charity ping-pong event Aug. 29 at Dodger Stadium.
“Ping Pong 4 Purpose” will benefit the pitcher’s nonprofit foundation, which works to improve the lives of children in Los Angeles, Dallas and Zambia.
The single-elimination competition will feature Kershaw and some of his Dodger teammates, with celebrities including Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, comedian George Lopez and former manager Tony La Russa also expected to attend.
Ticket information is available online.
Kershaw’s charity work won him baseball’s highest civil prize, the Roberto Clemente Award, last year.
