Fernando Tatis shows Chan Ho Park who’s not the bigger man

There is pure class, and then there is Fernando Tatis.

Tatis offers a perfect example how easily Twitter can be abused. Or how easy it is to make yourself look like a clown in 140 characters or less.

Tatis is the St. Louis Cardinals third baseman who famously hit two grand slams off Chan Ho Park at Dodger Stadium in the same inning in 1999.

It was, in fact, on this date 14 years ago that Tatis became the first major leaguer to accomplish the feat. It was something, and it helped him move on to what easily became a career year.

Manage something like that, and it speaks for itself. No self-congratulation is required, or should be permitted. And absolutely no gloating, particularly 14 years later.

Yet for some reason, Tatis couldn’t help his little Twitter thumbs and on Tuesday posted this:

Really? Not sure what possessed Tatis to take a shot at Park all these years later. Must be really bored in retirement, but he’s taking Bruce Springsteen’s “Glory Days” to new depths.

“I am very lucky to face you.”

Yeah, guess there’s no time limit on rubbing salt in a wound from a regular-season game in April. What a peacock. Oh, Fernando, you’re just so, so, so … clueless? Probably not embarrassed. Maybe not understanding how this tweeting thing works. Like, you know, how anyone can read it when you have a complete brain cramp.

Somebody better show him how to hit the delete button.
