Boys’ basketball: School police investigate Bernstein-Hollywood fight

Share

An altercation that broke out at the conclusion of Wednesday’s basketball game between host Hollywood and rival Bernstein when players were shaking hands is being investigated by the Los Angeles Unified School District and school police, according to Dave Siedelman, a specialist in the district’s athletics office.

Hollywood won the game.

Because of the incident, Siedelman said the two schools will have a “silent game” on Feb. 14 at Bernstein, where no fans or spectators will be permitted to attend.

When contacted by phone on Friday, Bernstein Principal Andre Spicer refused to confirm a fight took place.

“No comment,” he said.

A district spokeswoman said Friday that students have been disciplined for their participation in the altercation.
