Baseball: Jacob Nix helps USA 18U team defeat Cuba, 6-5
Jacob Nix, a senior pitcher at Los Alamitos, threw 5 2/3 scoreless innings of relief to help the USA 18U baseball team defeat Cuba, 6-5, at the IBAF World Cup in Taiwan on Tuesday night.
USA got a walk-off hit in the bottom of the ninth to win the game.
Nix, a UCLA commit, kept the USA team in the game after entering the game with the USA trailing, 3-0. He gave up four hits, struck out five and walked four. USA is 3-1 in the tournament.
