Football: Sophomore QB Armando Herrera has Redlands East Valley in bowl final
- Share via
It’s hard enough to win a bowl game with a junior or senior playing quarterback, but Redlands East Valley is trying to pull it off with a sophomore, Armando Herrera, handling the offense.
So far, Herrera has been nothing short of spectacular in leading the Wildcats to a 14-1 record.
The 6-foot Herrera has completed 66% of his passes for 3,576 yards and 40 touchdowns. Coach Kurt Bruich said Herrera played pain free on Friday despite having injured his shoulder in an earlier game.
Redlands East Valley faces Concord Clayton Valley on Saturday at 4 p.m. at StubHub Center in the CIF state championship Division II bowl game.
Clayton Valley has run for nearly 7,000 yards on the ground.
