Los Angeles Kings’ Jonathan Quick a finalist for Vezina trophy
Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick is one of three finalists for the Vezina trophy, awarded annually to the best goalie in the NHL.
He is competing for the award with New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist and Nashville Predators netminder Pekka Rinne.
Quick, 26, recorded a franchise-record and league-leading 10 shtuouts this season and became the first Kings goalie to win 30 games in three consecutive seasons. Quick and also ranked among the NHL leaders with a 1.95 goals-against average, .929 save percentage and 35 wins. He allowed one goal or shut out the opposition in 27 games and surrendered two goals or fewer 46 times.
The winner will be announced June 20 at the league’s annual awards show in Las Vegas.
