Bart Scott is the latest to join CBS’ ‘The NFL Today’ crew
Bart Scott is quickly climbing the ranks of NFL studio analysts.
After one year on CBS Sport Network’s “That Other Pregame Show,” the former Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets linebacker has graduated to CBS’ “The NFL Today” show as part of a continuing shakeup of that program.
Last week CBS announced that Hall of Famers and longtime analysts Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe would not return to the show and that recently retired tight end Tony Gonzalez would join a lineup that includes James Brown, Bill Cowher and Boomer Esiason.
“Bart joining The NFL Today is a natural progression from his outstanding work during his first season,” CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus said in a news release.
“Bart brings a dynamic personality and unique perspective as a recently retired player providing strong opinions on all the hot-button issues on a weekly basis. We are confident he will continue to bring that perspective and those opinions to ‘The NFL Today.’”
Scott, who once tried to get his Jets teammates to join him in a media boycott, retired from the NFL after the 2012 season. He made the Pro Bowl in 2006.
