Stephen Carr cannot sign a letter of intent for nearly two years, but the Fontana Summit High running back committed to USC on Monday.

“It’s been one of my favorite schools since I was younger,” said Carr, a 2017 recruit. “Seeing Reggie Bush play as a running back and me wanting to be a running back, there was a lot of influence for me wanting to go there.”

Carr, 6 feet and 180 pounds, has visited campus twice, he said.

He has offers from Colorado, UCLA and Washington and said he would continue with the recruiting process.

Carr is the first player to commit to the Trojans’ 2017 recruiting class.

He can sign a letter of intent in February 2017 after his senior season.
